Wanna beta?

Okay, RSWers! Today is your opportunity to share a bit about what you’ve been working on all summer, and hopefully find a CP match made in blog heaven!

If you’re looking for new readers or are interested in beta reading someone’s WiP, and you find someone you think you might connect with, feel free to peruse that person’s RSW posts from this summer (a lot of us have been sharing lines from our WIPs so it might give you a better idea of writing styles), and leave a comment on that person’s post indicating your interest in beta reading. There’s a chance not everyone will find a potential partner this way, so if others don’t take you up on your offer to read or if someone doesn’t offer to read for you, please keep in mind  that there are any number of factors involved (ie: timing, genre, whether a person needs one or more betas, etc).

Hopefully the stars are aligned for a beautiful critique match-up! I can’t wait to learn about your story, so don’t forget to sign up on the linky below!

I’m looking for feedback on my contemporary-ish YA, Where Poppies Bloom, the first story in a potential duology. It’s a mystery/romance (heavy on the romance), and it’s definitely on the upper end of YA. I’m looking for big-picture comments regarding the mystery, specifically. I’ve overhauled this manuscript, and I need to be sure all of its elements are working together and making sense. It should be ready in the next few weeks.

  1. Me, me, me, meeeeeee 🙂 I’d love to read and comment. I am finished with my novelette and would love to dive in 🙂 And if it is ready in the next few weeks, it is perfect timing. My last working day is September 26th (at the day job), the move won’t be until the beginning of October if all goes well, and I would love to help you out 🙂

Hi Katy – I would *love* a chance to beta read for you! I’ve been so captivated by the bits you’ve shared up until now. And your inspiration board and love list just seals the deal. 🙂 I read predominantly older YA and NA with a preference for contemporary. I’d be really happy/honored to provide feedback for you.

  3. I’m available to read, if you need an extra set of eyes 🙂

  4. I’m a huge fan of any romance, so if you’re not full up on betas yet, I’d be open to reading and commenting! 🙂

Well, you seem to have enough eager readers, but I’ll add that it’s a cool concept. I didn’t realise it was a mystery as well as a romance.
