Must-Watch Movies

Recently, I was chatting with my dad and my husband about movies that, when we catch them on TV, we have to sit down and watch through the end. They’re not necessarily our favorite movies and most of them are neither poignant nor profound, but they lend a sense of nostalgia and boost our moods. They’re movies that are just too good to pass up.

We agreed on…

Wedding Crashers
Step Brothers
Road Trip

And my personal must-watch films…

The Princess Bride
The Goonies
Tangled
Moulin Rouge!
Dirty Dancing
Walk the Line
The Notebook
Mean Girls
Pitch Perfect
The Man in the Moon
10 Things I Hate About You

What are your must-watch movies?

  1. I’d agree with Wedding Crashers, Step-Brothers, Princess Bride, Goonies and would add my own personal mix of Star Wars, Clue and Zoolander.

  2. I’m with you on The Goonies 🙂 I can only watch The Man in the Moon every few years, after I’ve forgotten how sad it is. My number 1 can-watch-repeatedly movie is Independence Day. Same with my husband. We laughed at ourselves last July 4 when the movie was on all day and we were pleased every time we happened to pass in front of the TV.

  3. Good question! I watch tv more often that movies, but there are a few on my list. #1 is Mean Girls. I’d also add Clueless, Pitch Perfect, all the Harry Potter movies, Center Stage, The Brady Bunch movie, any of the Bring It On movies, and 13 Going on 30. My sister always has to watch 27 Dresses and my brother always has to watch Gladiator.

  4. Yes Step Brothers is a favourite in our house too! Same goes for 10 Things I Hate About You and Pitch Perfect. As with Zanne above, we’ll always make time for Clueless, Center Stage and Bring It On. Also, Zoolander, She’s the Man, Grease, Titanic, LOTR, My Best Friends Wedding…I could go on forever!

  5. Some great movies there. I definitely agree that some movies have that element of nostalgia that make them great to watch. I have yet to watch Tangled (saw the beginning over Christmas with a 3-year-old of the extended family but then I had to go and do something else), but it would probably be on my list. Pitch Perfect and 10 Things I Hate About You would be there, too!
Some of my must-watch: Stardust. Disney’s Atlantis. Pirates of the Caribbean (just the trilogy). Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom. Night at the Museum 2. I, Robot.

For sure I gotta watch The Notebook! I have never paid any mind to it despite hearing about it from my sister.
