Road Trip Wednesday is a “Blog Carnival,” where YA Highway’s contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question and answer it on their own blogs. You can hop from destination to destination and get everybody’s unique take on the topic.
This weekโs topic: Your six-word memoir. Literally, your life story in six words.
Whew! This was way hard!ย Mine ended up being more of a statement of who I am today. Honestly, my first effort was this: Loving mother, wife, writer, music fan. I tried to snazz it up a bit. Seven words would have been *so* much easier. ๐ย Regardless, here’s what I ended up with:
Matriarch, lover of literature, Nashville harmonies.
Can’t wait to read all the others!
Nice! I still have to do mine!!! Eek!
Thanks, Katharine! I read yours already, and it’s fab ๐
I second Katharine.
Thanks, Alicia. This was a fun challenge to take on!
Nashville harmonies FTW!
Ha! Thanks, Kate ๐
Really well written… I can really get who you are from your statement.
Kudos ๐
Thanks, Marquita! Your comment totally made me smile. ๐
I love country music! It basically tells the story of our lives, so I can appreciate including this. Love it!
Thanks, Cory. Glad to see another country music fan!
Awesome. Agree with you on the seven words, hehe – of course, then we’d be begging for eight! I like both versions – simple and snazzy. ๐
Thanks, Emilia. You’re right–we’d always be asking for *just* one more word!
Yep, Nashville harmonies is great! ๐
Thanks, Abby. And really, who doesn’t love Nashville harmonies? ๐
So much story in those six words. This is great!
Thanks, Anne. This was a fun little challenge!
“Matriarch” say so much in so little. It’s perfect.
Thanks, Jess! At first I worried that it sounded a little… old… but it’s kind of growing on me. Why not embrace what I am? ๐
Very nice! Matriarch is one of my favorite words. So much power, love, gentleness, service and reward in that word.
Thanks, Kristin. I sort of love it too. It says so much in so little space.
Love it! This has been such a fun road trip to read. I admit I’m not game to try it myself!
Now, I’m nursing a cold and a fair bit of medication here, but your blog header and photo changed, right? Is it the winter setting? I love it!
Yep, I winterized! Thanks for noticing ๐ The colorful dahlias and summer outfit in my photo made me miss summer too much, so it was time for a change.
