Two Quick Things…

Have you seen the awesomeness that is this clip from the The Hunger Games?

How amazing is Jennifer Lawrence? She rocks the whole subtle badass thing, which gives me complete faith that she’ll make an amazing Katniss. Only eighteen days until the big release… Cannot wait to see this movie!

Also, thanks to same recent changes with Blogger, my friend Erin Bowman has had a bit of a snafu with her Google Friend Connect (boo!). If you followed Erin via GFC and/or your blogger dashboard, her feeds got cut and you’re probably not following her any more. That’s unfortunate because she’s wonderful. She also has this crazy habit of writing savvy, thoughtful blog posts which tend to be incredibly helpful and/or inspiring. Please do click HERE if you’d like to resubscribe to her blog. (I recommend it!)

So… Tell me about your weekend? Getting excited for The Hunger Games premier?

I am sooo excited about the Hunger Games movie. Every time I hear the commercial on t.v., I stop what I’m doing and watch. Goosebumps go up and down my arms. I must get tickets this week. It’s going to be sooo good.

That is exactly my reaction to the trailer too, Jenny! I was half-asleep the other night and heard the trailer come on while my husband was watching TV. I snapped right to attention to watch!

    • katyupperman says:

I need to get my tickets still. I think my husband and I are going to try to see it in IMAX. Fingers crossed that it will be as awesome as the book, and as awesome as the trailer is!

I hadn´t seen that clip yet! Thanks, Katy! 😀
I have Erin on my Google reader so I luckily can still see her posts 🙂 (and I used as always way too many smileys :D)

I just saw that clip yesterday. It is exactly how I pictured that scene! I can’t wait!!!! (I think in this instance, the abuse of exclamation points was warranted, yes?)

    • katyupperman says:

Oh, yes… for sure!!!! 🙂 That’s how I pictured the scene playing out too (as was the reaping scene in the trailer, actually) so I have full faith in the awesomeness of this movie. Can’t wait!

  4. Jessica Love says:

YES. Her acting is so subtle…I love it. The range of emotions you can see go across her face when she yells “I volunteer!” in the trailer is amazing. I have total confidence in her in this role.

    • katyupperman says:

My husband and I were just talking about how incredible her “I volunteer!” moment is last night. If she maintains that level of excellence through the movie, I think it will be amazing.

I”m looking forward to the movie too! And the whole GFC thing has messed me up too, so anyone that was following my blog (and wishes to continue to follow my blog), please be aware!

I am beyond excited about the Hunger Games premier! I caved yesterday and bought myself one of the mockingjay pins (the price was a major drawback). I figure it’ll be a collectors item of sorts, so why not. Plus, I want to wear it to the movie. I’m ashamed to admit that I got some of the Capitol Colors nail polish too. I should be flogged….

That whole GFC thing is making me crazy. It hasn’t affected my blog, but I’m suddenly not getting updates in my Dashboard from those who were affected. What a pain in the neck. 😦

    • katyupperman says:

Yes, the GFC thing seems incredibly unnecessary and inconvenient. I don’t use it because it was a pain for WordPress blogs anyway, but now it seems they’re making it nearly impossible to use it anywhere but at Blogger. Anywho… what a mess.

And, um, I’m a little jealous of your HG nail polish. Perhaps I should be flogged as well? 🙂

My favorite part of the clip is actually the multiple exclamations of “Who ordered this pig? WHO ordered this pig?” – all self-congratulatory. I don’t know. The tone of the questioning just makes me LOL.

    • katyupperman says:

Yes, yes, YES!!! I love that whole bit too, how they’re all chuckling and arrogant. Well-played. And the expression Jennifer Lawrence gives when she realizes they aren’t assessing her… AWESOME!
