Remember when I went on vacation?

We spent all of last week visiting family in Washington. It was fantastic! So, because I really like Instagram and my girlie and my husband, I’d love to share some images from our trip…

Someone's excited to see her Mimi and Baba! #WashingtonVacation2012
Cutie pie waiting to board our flight…

One of my girlie’s favorite things to do with her Mimi (my mother-in-law, who has quite a green thumb!) is pick flowers. These are a sampling of what they collected from the garden.

We took our girl to the American Girl Store, which was amazing. She was absolutely delighted with all there was to see! She got to pick out matching jammies for herself and Dolly, and also a few books. We had a special lunch at Romano’s Macaroni Grill (YUM!) and tea/lemonade/coffee in the American Girl  Bistro. All in all, it was a very fun day, and made for one tired kiddo!

Only on vacation, right? I had veggie, and it was delish!

My hometown is known nationwide for its fair, which happens over the course of two weeks in September. It’s a huge deal, and people come from far and wide to check it out. The Puyallup Fair is a big part of why we chose to visit Washington in September — my girlie has yet to miss a fair! This year’s experience didn’t disappoint; the weather was gorgeous, the food was abundantly greasy, and the rides were headache-inducing. What more can one ask for?

My husband is cute. ❤
We were lucky enough to enjoy not one but TWO adult evenings out during our trip (thank you, awesome in-laws who are always happy to baby-sit!), and we spent them both at the Puyallup Fair. Because it’s so much fun!

This sassy girl was so in her element. She had the full attention of her Mimi and Baba, plus she got to spend all kinds of time with her cousins, aunt, and uncles, who she adores. Obviously she’s not shy about hamming it up!

Bud Light, + Apple Crisp + Vanilla Ice Cream = A Perfect Autumn Treat
(Sadly, this treat was enjoyed while watching my beloved Cougs lose their Homecoming football game in its final minutes. Boo.)

Major highlight of the trip: TIM MCGRAW! This was the second time we’ve seen him live and, oh, he was so freaking good! My only complaint was that we somehow ended up sitting among a lot of old, lame people, which means my husband spent the bulk of the concert trying to convince me that I should sit down and stop fan-girling and flailing about. (He was unsuccessful.)

Airport Fun: An unexpected game of Where’s Waldo? How excited do you think this guy would be to know he’s found his way onto my blog? 😉

I’m curious about the last trip YOU took…
What were the highlights?

Aw, love seeing all of these pictures, Katy! So happy that you got to have such a wonderful vacation. We have yet to go to the American Girl’s store, but I am pretty sure my girls would love it too! Just so sweet to see your girlie’s smiling face 🙂 I also am a huge fan of Macaroni Grill, and you know how I feel about fairs/carnivals 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing!

Looks like you had a great trip! I have several friends in that area, and a few of them went to the Puyallup fair too! 🙂 Well, unfortunately it’s been awhile since my last trip. I only did a few quick weekend trips this year. The last real vacation I had was last summer when my sister and I went to Toronto. It was so much fun–my first time to Canada. I’m looking forward to going somewhere next year when I’ll finally have vacation days again. Guess where I might be going? Seattle. 🙂

Ooh, you should visit Seattle! It’s a great city, but I recommend going around August or September — that’s when the weather’s best. You’ll have to let me know what you think if you make it out that way. 🙂

The trip is in May. Hopefully the weather will be okay then! Technically I have been to Seattle, I just didn’t spend any time in the actual city. I flew into Seattle and went to Anacortes. I’m looking forward to actually spending some time exploring Seattle. It seems like a fun city! Hopefully the trip works out!

Thanks for sharing the pictures! I was a big fan of American Girl as a kid–the company started in my hometown. The fair looks totally delightful. Washington is high on my states-to-visit list!

Washington is pretty fantastic, especially if you visit at the right time of year. I DON’T recommend March. 🙂 I loved American Girl growing up too, but as far as I know, only the books were popular. There were no stores and if there were dolls, no one really had them. The store was amazing though! I was ALMOST as excited as my girl!

Love this. I used to be a HUGE American Girl doll fan (my AG doll still hangs out at my parents’ house haha). There’s a huge store in NYC which was completely super fun to the 8 year old me. 😉 Looks like a great trip, Katy and you’re making me want to travel again!

Okay, first of all, you have convinced me that I actually need to upgrade my phone or iPod this fall so I can finally, finally get Instagram. Your pictures were wonderful! Phone cameras have come a long way, haven’t they? And I love your angles and the way you applied your filters.

As for your trip, it looks like so much fun! Glad you had a good time.

Great pictures, Katy! Looks like you had a great time. The highlight of my last trip? Having afternoon tea with my hubby at the Athenaeum in London followed by WICKED in the West End. Great memories. 🙂

The fair looks so fun! The LA County fair is actually going on right now, but I’ve only been once or twice. I guess I should really take more advantage. Love the pics, and totally agree about the fun times that is Instagram!

Last trip I took was to Las Vegas for my birthday. The highlights mostly consist of dressing classy and dancing cheesy – to use a quote from PSY (about the Gangnam Style horse dance). Haha.

Looks like you had a blast. 🙂 My last trip was to a very small town called Elko, Nevada, where my dad and sister live. My brothers came down from Reno along with my cousin (like a sister!), and we had some really awesome family time–good beer, good ribs, good times.

Love the pictures. We’ve been to the American Girl doll store here and also the one in New York. We ate lunch at the cafe and the dolls had beauty appointments at the salon. The girls loved it.
