“What’s Up Wednesday” is a fun weekly meme started by my friends Jaime Morrow and Erin Funk. From Jaime: It’s similar in some respects to the Currently… post, but it’s been whittled down to only four headings to make it quicker and more manageable on a weekly basis. What I’m Reading: Landline, which is predictably glorious. I’m pretty sure Rainbow Rowell is incapable of mediocrity. All four of her books are must-reads if you’ve yet to check them out.

What I’m Writing: I’m working on revising my WiP, Where Poppies Bloom, according to my CP’s notes. It’s coming along, and I’m looking forward to sending it off for one more round of feedback before my agent gets a read.

What Else I’ve Been Up To: Aaah! SO much!


My girlie started second grade. *sniffle*

   
Shortly after, we flew across the country for my brother-in-law’s wedding in Portland. My husband was the Best Man, and my daughter was a flower girl. ❤


From Portland, we headed to the Seattle area, where my in-laws live. Of course we had to make a special trip to the American Girl store.

  
We also went to a Washington State University football game. We pre-funked with my in-laws (including my new sister-in-law!) and I got to visit with my longtime friend (and fellow Coug), Kari Bradley.

What’s Inspiring Me Now: My fellow Ready. Set. Write! participants! You all did amazingly this summer — congratulations on your successes! I cannot wait to see what comes of the novels we worked on over the last three months! Also, the enthusiastic response I got to last week’s Wanna Beta post. Knowing people are intrigued by my little story is so motivating and humbling. THANK YOU! ❤

    I have Landline on my TBR and need to get the book already. I haven’t read Rainbow Rowell’s adult novels, but loved her YA so, so much. Sniffling with you about second grade, but your kiddo is so adorable and it looks like the wedding was a blast! Good luck on the revision.

      Thanks, Rebekah! Rainbow Rowell’s ATTACHMENTS is fabulous (as is LANDLINE, so far). She writes amazing, amazing dialogue! You’ll have to let me know what you think. Have an awesome week!

    All Rainbow Rowell novels are on my TBR list, at the very top, but I know I need enough time and space to marathon read through all of them. I’m thinking holidays.

    aw! Your daughter is adorable! Looks like you had a fabulous time in Washington! I’ve only been up there once and it’s beautiful! Good luck with revisions for Poppies, it sounds fabulous!

      It is beautiful in WA (I grew up there) but having to wear a jeans and sweatshirt in August is kind of a bummer. I’m happy to be back in steamy, swampy FL. 🙂 Have a wonderful week, Prerna!

    I can’t wait to read Landline! I love Rainbow Rowell’s books.
    I have a daughter who started grade 2 as well, just yesterday. Also a new kindergartener, my son going into grade four and my daughter grade 6. It’s crazy!

    I really need to read Rainbow Rowell’s other books. I read and loved E&P and FANGIRL, so I’m sure I’ll love the other two. Awesome to hear that things are coming along so well with POPPIES! I hope your agent loves the heck out of it. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! 😀

    I freaking love college football! It seems rare to see another writer be so into it as well 🙂 Unfortunately, I root for UNLV and they suck balls. Anywayz, you’ve been up to quite a lot of fun!

    Your daughter looks so adorable as a flower girl and in all the photos, wow grade 2! Time flies, my son starts Year 1 tomorrow.
    I loved Landline too, she is such an amazing writer.

    I’m one of those people who still needs to read a Rainbow Rowell book! I own all of them though, lol.

    You have been so busy! It’s been fun following along on Instagram, and what great timing that you got to go to a football game while you were visiting WA!
